Jerry Donald Ergle age 78 of Stockbridge, Georgia went to be with his Lord and Savior on August 15, 2020. He was born on November 1, 1941 to Curtis and Roberta Ergle. Jerry was a kind and gentle man that spent his life in the service of others. He served his country with great honor with The United States Marines during The Cuban Missile Crisis, and a police officer with The Atlanta Police Department, as well as a fireman for the Atlanta Fire Department and started The Atlanta Detective Agency. Jerry was a kind and gentle soul that never met a stranger. He was a devoted Christian and a member of Community Bible Church.

   He had an amazing sense of humor and loved to tell stories. Jerry loved to watch The Atlanta Falcons play football, share a meal at his favorite restaurant The Waffle House and always had a special connection and love for animals. He was cherished by so many and will be missed by all that knew him.

   Jerry is predeceased by his parents: Curtis and Roberta Ergle, his loving wife Elaine, and his son, “Little Jerry”. He leaves behind to carry on his legacy, his siblings: Gene (Vera) Ergle and Diane (Mike) Swaney. His stepchildren: Robert, David (Laura). His children: Jason (Candy) and Nicole. His grandchildren: Ashton, Aubrey, Savana, Lindsey, Sidney, Marshall, Mitchell, Ashleigh and Shealee, as well as a host of other loving family and friends. Services for Jerry are to be schedule later at The National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia.
