Music by The Piano Brothers

Scott Coker, age 56, of Atlanta, GA  passed away peacefully with his wife & mother at his side on January 6, 2021, He was a true warrior who defied the odds & continued to amaze doctors in his 11 year + battle with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma.

Scott was a long -term employee as a Software Engineer at Bluelinx in Atlanta, GA. He was born in Jacksonville, FL, served in the military for 3 years including being stationed in South Korea on the DMZ. He graduated from The University Of West Georgia with a degree in accounting.

Scott loved to fish, preferably on the ocean but would be happy on a lake or river too. He loved boating, scuba diving & loved going to the Galapagos Islands in 2018 with Annette. There he professed he had his greatest diving adventure upon spotting a shark. He also enjoyed hiking, ski-ing & was ready to try anything new. He had little fear and preferred to live life on the edge as opposed to playing completely by the rules. Throughout his entire battle, he never allowed cancer to define him & continued on with his life as though it wasn't really there. Some people didn't even know or forgot he even had cancer. He barely missed a day of work until the last year of his battle. His daily push ups never stopped much to his doctors and nurses dismay - even doing them in a hospital room hooked up to IV's.

He loved to do landscaping on his personal homes. Every home he lived in, he spent hours at the weekends working outside making an ugly garden beautiful. Laziness was not a word in his vocabulary.

Scott was as strong as an ox. He had been lifting weights since the age of 17. Many a time was spent in the home gym discreetly letting his sons know who could lift the most. It would be a rare thing to meet a man of his age who was a match for his physical strength.

Scott also was known to love watching shows on NetFlix & Amazon Prime , his favorites being , Better Call Saul, The Queens Gambit, Yellowstone & Schitts Creek.

Scott had a limited wardrobe, namely flannel shirts, dockers pants & skechers shoes. As much as Annette tried to expand his taste, she never could convince him that he really did look good in black.

He was predeceased by his father Jerry Gordon Coker .

Scott is survived by his beloved wife, Annette Coker, his mother Carolyn Joubert Coker, sons, Chad & Kendall Coker & step sons, Ivan & Oliver Lichtenstein.

Scott is also survived by his mother in law, Barbara Dawn Brandon & sister-in-law, Caroline Addison & Pete Addison. & many loving nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles & cousins.

Interment will be private at Honey Creek Woodlands at The Monastery of The Holy Spirit, Conyers, GA on Wednesday,  January 13,2021.

The family would like to invite friends & loved ones to join them in a celebration of life party in honor of Scott at a later post-Covid date. Flannel shirts will be highly encouraged.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made by going to  ( leukemia & lymphoma society ) & donate in honor of Scott.
