Alan Ronald Whigham, of Cumming Georgia passed away on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at the age of 72, surrounded by family. Alan was a loving husband, a father, a grandfather, and great grandfather. He was preceded in death by his mother, Yoko Sakamoto, his son Christopher Alan Whigham, and his stepson Joe Hicks. Alan is survived by his loving wife for the past 16 years, Mrs. Debbie Whigham of Cumming Georgia, his daughters Aimee Whigham (Tom Duffy) of Smyrna Georgia, Alisa Dent (Scott Salzman) of Charlotte North Carolina, Amanda Proctor (Danny Proctor) of Oxford Georgia, and Alyson Whigham of Monroe Georgia. Alan is also survived by his stepchildren Chris (Shelia) Hicks, Deborah (Darren) Hicks. Alan had five grandchildren, Cole (Kylie) Dent, Nate Proctor, Bre Proctor, Julianne Hubbard and Carson Whigham. Alan welcomed his first great granddaughter in December, Ivy Marie Dent. He shared grandchildren with his wife Debbie. Jeremiah (Jennifer) Hicks, Tyler Hicks (Kaitlin), Emily Breann Hicks (Cody) and Noah Hicks. They also share a step granddaughter, Marlie Bryan (Auburn) and all their children.
Alan loved being outdoors. As a teenager he played football for Kendrick High School in Columbus, Georgia. He was an avid golfer, a great bowler (completing 2 perfect games in his lifetime), Alan loved to bass fish. He enjoyed Umpiring and playing Men’s softball. Alan loved Jesus. He also enjoyed spending time with his 5 dogs, his family and friends.
Alan was most recently employed by Courier Express. He also worked for the US Postal Service in his later years. He was the manager of American Bowling Center (ABC) in Conyers and AMF Bowling Center in Norcross for several years. He was part owner of Golf, USA located in Conyers Georgia. He was the owner/ CEO of Eastern Star which was a subcontractor for Maxell America providing services as in quality control, warehouse, transportation daycare and dry cleaning services
