Husband, Father, Entrepreneur

Arthur S Freeman was born on September 4, 1941 in Jersey
City, New Jersey just prior to the US engagement in WWII. He
passed away on February 11, 2024 after an intermittent decline
in his health in Greensboro, GA.

Art is survived by his loving wife of 35 Years Susan Konkel, his
sister Sherry Mellor, and his children Stacie, Brad, Sean;

his 6 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren.

Arthur was predeceased by his father Edward Julius Freeman

who fought in the Pacific theater soon after Arthur's birth,

his mother Elizabeth (Betty) Freeman ne Zatkow and his grandfather, Harry Zatkow (Zoecthczuff),

and grandmother, Jennie Zatkow ne Marlieb who raised him for the first 4 years of his life, while
his mother was hospitalized with TB when he was a toddler.

Arthur served in the US Marines and attended Fairleigh
Dickinson University in which he graduated with a BS in
Chemistry and Biology in 1963.

His varied professional life started at Betz Laboratories in which
he specialized in industrial water treatment. Years later, he
worked as a photographer for Creative Loafing in Atlanta, GA
and was one of the first to explore computer technology before
selling his hardware company; Bits, Bites and Pieces. He
ventured into desktop publishing and later worked as a program
executive with Vanstar/Inacom as a project executive. His own
company Quest international was active in a variety of
entrepreneurial ventures throughout his life.

Arthur believed that we are tasked with leaving the planet better than when we
arrived on it. His semi retirement years focused on altruistic work with The
Cumberland Academy of Atlanta, and helping small business owners fulfill their
dreams through SCORE. He was pivotal in the development of the City of
Brookhaven and the Founding CEO and Executive Director of the Brookhaven AND
Chamblee Chamber of Commerce. He was the Chief Executive member and
Principal Investigator for ABLELIFE LLC, a startup technology company whose
mission is to provide drinking-quality water on a global basis. It continues today to
find partners to bring it to market.

He remained active in retirement in Greensboro, GA serving as treasurer for the
Harbor Club Carriage Ridge HOA. He also worked as a bookkeeper for Fishtales
Boutique at Lake Oconee.

Art enjoyed sailing, acting, poker, travel and dancing. He loved formal events, was
always curious and welcomed change and challenge.

Art will be remembered for his handsome beard, love of games, (especially chess,
poker and monopoly), political banter, and his love of building and growing small
businesses. His cats Lucy and Ethel will remember him for the twice daily treat
