Bonnie Christine (Coggins) Smith

Bonnie Christine Smith, age 90 of Decatur, Georgia, passed away peacefully on March 5, 2022, after a brief illness. “Tena”, as she was more commonly known, was born on May 14, 1931, in Jackson County, North Carolina. Tena had a great passion for life and lived every day to its fullest potential. She was an avid reader and an accomplished seamstress. Tena enjoyed dining out with friends and family, watching The Atlanta Braves, traveling, visiting the islands of Hawaii, and the glitz and glitter of Las Vegas. She absolutely loved to fish, whether it be on a simple bank on Lake Oconee, a gentle stream in the mountains, or the deep blue ocean. Tena was dedicated to her church, and one would often see her amongst her fellow congregates on Sunday services at The Church at Decatur Heights. She was loved by all that knew her and will be sorely missed. She is survived by her children, Byron Jason Smith and Melanie Rosser, her grandchildren, Brandon (Laurie) Mitchell, Blake (Maria) Mitchell, Brandi Rosser and Bonnie Brooke Rosser, and her great grandchildren, Carter, Collins, Emma and Benjamin.
