It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Catherine Renaud on June 30, 2025, at the age of 83.
Born on February 1, 1942, in Fayetteville, Georgia, Catherine was the daughter of the late Virginia Kerlin Mask and Thomas Edgar Mask. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.
Catherine was a pillar of strength and compassion within her church and community. Known for her kindness and unwavering dedication to others, she had a deep heart for service. She led the "Shine a Light" ministry, offering support and hope to those vulnerable to human trafficking—one of the many causes she championed.
Many found comfort and direction in her presence. She was a kind and attentive listener, a source of calm encouragement to those who sought her guidance.
A successful entrepreneur, Catherine co-founded Software Creations Inc. with her husband in 1981, managing the business with grace and integrity until the age of 82. She was introspective and always seeking truth, often expressing herself through writing stories and poetry. Catherine cherished the arts and found joy in the natural beauty around her—especially in her Buckhead home of 47 years, surrounded by the trees she so loved.
Her greatest joy, however, came from her family. Known affectionately as “Mimama,” she treasured every moment with her grandchildren—creating a legacy of love and cherished memories that will endure for generations.
Catherine was preceded in death by her beloved son, David Marshall Sligh, and precious granddaughter, Samantha May McBride.
She is survived by her loving husband, daughter, sister, brother, grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren, as well as many extended family members and dear friends.
