It is more of a blessing to give than to receive - Acts 20:35
Elizabeth Ann Belladonna Bird passed away on February 15, 2025 at the age of 82. She passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones.
Elizabeth was born in Huntington, West Virginia and moved to Atlanta around age 8 where she
attended Saint Thomas More and Saint Pius X High School. After a date, she was continuously
pursued by her date’s best friend which turned into marriage and 6 beautiful daughters. Lloyd
grew to be her greatest and only love. It was during this time that Elizabeth truly learned to give
rather than receive; Always thinking of and taking care of others rather than herself. She also
took in and raised her three nieces, to which she loved unconditionally in her beautiful, maternal
way. Her generosity knew no bounds. She was a loving mother and grandmother, “Gigi”, and a
beautiful soul who had an uncanny way of listening to anyone and providing consolement. Her
radiant smile, classic and elegant dress and beauty lit up every room she entered.
Elizabeth enjoyed soaking in the sun, playing bridge with her best friends, baking and cooking
delicious “famous” meals, attending plays, and playing with her 13 grandchildren. She was an
amazing dancer and taught her wonderful piano skills to others. She also sang at Sunday
masses. Elizabeth was the best friend to many and to each of her daughters (all of whom wished to be her favorite).
Elizabeth was a devout Catholic who wore her faith like a cloak of bravery, truth and hope, no matter the circumstance.
With her indomitable positive attitude, sheer mock power and
unwavering patience, she handled the hard stuff well, defeating cancer earlier in life.
Elizabeth is survived by her husband Lloyd, her six daughters, three nieces, 13 grandchildren
and 7 great grandchildren. Her departure comes as a great shock and deep wound and is
greatly felt by her entire family and countless others who loved her deeply. The family sincerely
appreciates your support.
A celebratory funeral will be held on Thursday, February 20, 2025 at 11:00 am at
