Not so long ago, in a galaxy not so far away, there was a little boy named Erik. He enriched the lives of his parents, sister, brothers, grandparents, uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends, just as they enriched his life and helped him become an amazing man of 26 years. He brought so much joy into our lives and the lives of so many others. He shared his passion for life with everyone, be it in the form of laughter, music, Bulldawg football, his Braves, or time on a tennis court (and the rarely effective swinging backhand volley). If you spent any amount of time with Erik, there’s a pretty good chance he shared a song with you. Maybe he was just humming his favorite song at the time. Maybe it was just a song he thought you would enjoy. Maybe you made him feel something that he couldn’t put into words unless he could sing them. Whatever the reason, we hope you’ll remember how fortunate you are to have a piece of Erik with you. He never failed to make us laugh; the memories we have make us smile in spite of the pain, and we hope they do the same for you. We can rejoice even through our sadness because he is with our Lord in Heaven, singing like he never has before.
Erik, we’ll be loving you.
