Freda Ann (Ballard) Mitchell age 77 of Covington, Georgia, went to be with her Lord and Savior on October 17, 2019. Freda, also known as Mama, Grandmama, Gigi and Meme, was born on April 20th, 1942 in Rome, Georgia to the late Johnny and Gertrude Ballard. Freda embodied the true essence of a “Southern Lady”. She was a very loving and gentle lady that always went out of her way to make everyone feel welcomed and loved. Freda shared her southern charm and witty sense of humor mostly at her kitchen table. Her table served as the gathering place for her beloved family and friends to share their stories of laughter, love, dreams and sorrow and Freda was always there to offer her unbiased counsel, unconditional love and her unfaltering faith in Jesus Christ to guide those who sought her guidance but most of all, a place to request prayer. It was often said that “Freda” had a direct connection with “The Big Man” upstairs and if Freda was praying for you, then there was nothing to worry about.
Because of Freda’s immeasurable love for others and her generous spirit, the family has requested that in lieu of flowers, that donations be made to The Livingston Elementary School Cafeteria. These monies will be used to fund the deficient school lunch accounts of the children that attend Livingston Elementary. These donations can be made by one of the following ways:
