Ms. Jennifer Forrest “Shula,” age 69, of Buckhead, Georgia, departed this life unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 10, 2023, at home. She was born in Manhattan, New York, August 18, 1953, the third oldest of seven to the late Edward C. Forrest Sr. and Dorothy M. Forrest.
As Edward Sr was able to obtain better employment, Jennifer grew up in Manhattan, NY and Toledo, Ohio, she attended public schools in both NY and OH, graduating in 1970 from Scott High School in Toledo, OH. She attended Wayne County Community college and Wayne State university in Detroit MI.
Jennifer had a gregarious personality, zest for life and loved to travel. She took several cruises, trips to Cancun, and the island of Jamaica. As an adult, she lived on the West coast in Los Angeles, California, Jamaica Queens, NY, and settled in the Atlanta, GA area.
Being led by the Spirit, she accepted the beliefs of Messianic Judaism. She believed that Jesus is the son of God, as well as the Messiah, and that he died in atonement for the sins of mankind. She was baptized September 26, 2021, by Minister Milton Carnes.
Jennifer was preceded in death by great niece Amirah Forrest Norwood Charlotte, NC, parents Edward Sr and Dorothy Forrest of Detroit MI, aunties Elizabeth Young Jamacia Queens NY, Melba Clark of Cape Cod, MA, and Gladys B. Hurt of East Wareham NE. She leaves to cherish her memory; Sisters, Dale Forrest Bolden of Acworth GA, Victoria Forrest of Toledo OH, Connie Forrest of Mesa AZ, and Equilla Forrest of Toledo OH; Brothers, Edward Jr., (Valerie) of Lansing MI and Kinzel of Atlanta GA, along with six nephews, two nieces, several great nieces and nephews, and extended family and friends. Special thanks to nephew Cornell Norwood, adopted niece Heather Beverly and adopted nephew Arthur Battle.
