On Sunday, February 26, The Brooks Family invites you to celebrate the life of JoAnn Ellis Brooks, who passed away on Saturday, February 18, 2023 at home with her family. The celebration will take place at New Life Praise Center (8111 Brown Bridge Road, Covington, GA) at 2:00 PM.
JoAnn was a young 83 year old, born on September 27, 1939. She used her faith in the Lord to reach out and impact everyone around her through genuine love and affection. She was known to many as “Momma Jojo” for her nurturing and encouraging words. She always let you know where you stood according to her faith and would always encourage you to grow in the name of Jesus.
JoAnn excelled for 16 years in her role as a greeter at Mountain Motorsports not only for the love of her job, but for the love she had for interacting and impacting the lives of those who were blessed to experience her presence.
JoAnn’s greatest success was her family. She is survived by her son Darrell Brooks and his wife Tracy. Her grandchildren Amanda Willis, Ashley Varlow, Amber Brooks, April Brooks, Andy Brooks, Donzell Brooks, Ansley Custodio, Samantha Mintz and John McKenzie. JoAnn has been blessed by 24 great grandchildren, with her 25th on the way who will learn of what an amazing woman she was through story due later in 2023.
JoAnn is proceeded in death by her loving husband Donzell and her sons Kent and David will welcome her to her forever home in Heaven.
Anyone who was fortunate enough to know, be influenced and receive joy from JoAnn will always get to enjoy her smile and love through memories. She touched so many lives; both to those who knew and loved her, and to those who never really knew her. Fly high Mama. Rest in the loving arms of God.
