It is with broken hearts, that we announce the death of our beloved daughter, sister, granddaughter, aunt and friend, Madelaine Virginia Eidson. Madelaine was born in Snellville, Georgia on the most precious of days, she was born on Mother’s Day, May 11, 2002, to John Eidson Sr., and Wendy Eidson and her big sisters, Elizabeth, and Kharmin, welcomed her on that joyous day.
“As a mother comforts her child, so will I comfort you; and you will be comforted over Jerusalem”.
Isaiah 66:13
From a young age, we knew just how special Madelaine was. She taught herself to read at 3 years of age and published her first book at 8 years of age.
“Franklin, The Traveling Sock Monkey”, which was based on the worldly travels of both Madelaine and her best friend “Franklin the Sock Monkey”. The two travel partners in crime, traveled to exotic destinations both far and wide. They were chastised for touching the walls at The Alamo, in San Antonio, Texas. Terrified as they view the edge of the smoldering Volcano in Hawaii, Sunburnt while walking through the boundless Moab Desert, in Moab, Utah, standing in awe of the vast grandeur of the Teton Mountains, in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, gleefully excited as they licked their fingers of powdered sugar at Café Du Monde, in New Orleans, Louisiana, over joyed with the thrill of both Disney World and Universal Studios, in Orlando, Florida, overtaken by the tacky nature of Graceland, in Memphis, Tennessee, and were aghast of The Swiss Alps, in Switzerland.
Madelaine was very artistic and was an accomplished make-up artist, she was one of the artists at Netherworld in Stone Mountain, Georgia, as well as her yearly creative custom costumes for her visits to both Dragon Con and MoMo Con.
Madelaine was a gentle and giving young lady, she was kind and a free-spirited soul. She was a true friend and was always the first to reach out and to love and support, the unloved and unsupported.
She absolutely loved and adored her family; she was the happiest when she was surrounded by her loving family. Madelaine had a great fondness for animals and had a knack for finding the oldest, the sickest and the ugliest cats, dogs, ferrets, lizards, and birds to bring home to be loved on, and loved to the fullest they were. Madelaine was a precious gift to each and every one that knew her and loved her. She was just too big and bright for this world and just faded all too soon. Madelaine, you will be missed every second of everyday, we love you so very much our darling daughter.
Madelaine is preceded in death by her brother-in-law; Shane Beam, her beloved “Zowie” dog, her loving ferret “Dart Earl”, her precious bird, “Cowboy Curtis”, and her endearing rats, “Cheese & Greg” and last but not least, “Weenie Bones”. She leaves behind to honor and cherish her memory; her parents; John and Wendy Eidson, her sisters; Kharmin Beam and Elizabeth Eidson, her nana, Maria Bryans, her nieces and nephews, Jordan and Tanner Beam and Brody and Harper Plunkett, and her dearest friend Abbey Stone, as well as a loving host of family and friends. We, the family of our beloved Madelaine, would like to express our deepest gratitude for all of the love that has surrounded our family, during this most difficult and sad time.
"Blessed are those who mourn for they shall be comforted"
Matthew 5:4
