Margaret Ann Best was born October 21, 1930 in Locust Grove, Georgia, the daughter of Roy and Cora Foster of McDonough, Georgia. Margaret passed on January 12 in Atlanta, Georgia, aged 89.
Margaret was a loving mother to five children, selfless in her care and devotion. She and her family lived in Florida and moved to Fort Myers Beach in the late 1950s. Margaret loved to collect shells and has left an exquisite collection acquired over many years. Residing in Atlanta from the late 1960s, Margaret continued to care for her children and worked full-time as well. Margaret loved to travel and visited Europe and Australia as well as enjoyed trips across the U.S. with kids and Airstream trailer in tow. Margaret loved to read, was a wonderful cook and well-loved by her children and co-workers.
Margaret is survived by her children Elaine Best, Edward Best and his wife Wendi Keylar Best, Allison Best, Janet Best, Carrie Jo Best and her partner Clay Henss and by her sister Dorothy Foster Yeager and brothers William, Thomas and Douglas Foster and many nieces and nephews. Her grandchildren Adam Best and his wife Joannaand William Best and his wife Arianne reside in Australia in Queensland.
Services will be on Monday, January 20 at 2PM at Honey Creek Woodlands memorial nature preserve in Conyers, Georgia. https://www.honeycreekwoodlands.com/
