Mark Homer Schroeder

Mark H. Schroeder, 64 of Loganville, GA passed away unexpectedly on January 4, 2021.

Mark was born in Indianapolis, Indiana to Homer & Irene Schroeder on August 9, 1956, the youngest of four children. Mark is survived by his loving wife of 26, years, Diana, two children, Erin & Austin; a brother, Scott (Kim) Schroeder and two sisters, Linda (Lee) Kopulos and Ruth (Larry) Patrick; and several nieces and nephews. Mark was very dedicated to his family. He was very involved with his son and daughter's travel softball/baseball careers and was often found keeping the book and pitch count at every game. He took great pride in keeping a well-manicured lawn. Several times a week, Mark would be tending to his grass. So much so that his neighbor would laugh and say, "Let me go check mine"! Mark was also a sports enthusiast. He was an avid bowler and even managed to roll a few Perfect 300 games over the years. He was a passionate Braves fan who never gave up on his team. Mark played softball off and on through the years, and most recently started playing in a Senior Softball League. He retired from AT&T in 2019 after 35 years of service. Mark thoroughly enjoyed his retirement often saying, "Every day is a Saturday!" as he smiled and chuckled. He was a loving husband, father, brother and friend who will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. A viewing will take place at Phoenix Funeral Services, Inc., on Monday, January 11th from 5pm ~ 7pm. All are welcome. A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, January 12th, at 11am at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Conyers, GA. The Mass will also be live-streamed on St.Pius' Facebook and YouTube page for those unable to attend. Due current pandemic guidelines, face masks will be required at both the funeral home and church, as well as the practice of social distancing. A private burial service will take place for immediate family only following the funeral Mass. Interment will be at The Honey Creek Woodlands.
