Martha Rosalee Green McKinney, age 95, of Forest Park, Georgia, passed away peacefully on June 28, 2026, surrounded by her beloved family. She was born on March 7, 1931, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to the late Joseph and Mary Gootee.
Martha lived a life rich in love, adventure, and unwavering devotion to her family. Nothing brought her greater joy than spending time with her children and doting on her precious grandchildren. She delighted in taking them on vacations, sharing cruises, and creating cherished memories during a trip to Hawaii. In her younger years, Martha lived abroad in France and Germany with her children and Husband while he served in the military. All these experiences broadened her world and enriched her spirit.
A dedicated and hardworking woman, Martha never missed a day of work. She was a faithful member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Hapeville, Georgia, where she worshipped for many decades. Her compassion extended far beyond her family, as she volunteered her time and offered mentorship to individuals struggling with addiction, providing guidance, hope, and encouragement.
Martha was an avid Atlanta Braves fan and an exceptional candy maker, a craft she lovingly passed down to her family. She was a bright light in every room, bringing joy, laughter, and comfort to all who knew her. Her favorite saying, “Thank You, Lord,” reflected the gratitude and faith that shaped her life.
Martha leaves behind her loving children, treasured grandchildren, dear siblings, and a host of extended family and friends who will forever cherish her memory.
Her legacy is one of love, generosity, and a life beautifully lived.
