Martha Marshall Obituary

Martha Ann McVeigh Marshall, 77, died December 14, 2021 due to complications from cancer. 

Born in San Diego, CA and lived in Suwanee, GA.  She is preceded by her husband of 35 years, Robert A. Marshall.

She was active in the Johns Creek Methodist Church, Johns Creek Chancel Choir and raised several Boykin Spaniel puppies.  She was fluent in Spanish.  She was an experienced sailor and crossed the Atlantic with her husband and their dog, Calibogue.

She had a 23 year history of teaching from high school English to elementary school guidance counseling.  Her most recent position was her eight year tenure as school counselor at Tadmore Elementary School.

She graduated with a BA in English from the University of Southern California and did post graduate work at the University of Texas at El Paso and the University of South Carolina at Hilton Head Island.  She was an avid writer and published an article in the South Caroline magazine, The Sand Lapper

Martha is survived by her brother, Jack R. McVeigh Jr, her daughters Lisa Marie (Darren) Newara and Mary Marshall and her sons Gregory (Lisa) Stephens and Clifford Marshall. She had four grandsons-Trey Jordan Stephens, Sean Rowan Stephens, Alexander Joseph Newara and Benjamin Robert Newara, 2 great grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held on December 17th at 11am at Johns Creek Presbyterian Church at 10950 Bell Road in Johns Creek, Georgia.  Burial will be at 2 pm the same day at Honey Creek Woodlands at the Monastery of the Holy Spirit at 2625 Highway 212 SW in Conyers, Georgia. 

Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the American Cancer Society.
