Mary Gayle Adams (née Brodnax), of Snellville, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, October 27th 2018, aged 61 years, 3 months. She went with her family right beside her at Eastside Hospital, as her arduous fight with ovarian cancer ended.
Born in Atlanta, she lived her entire life in Georgia, having grown up in the Stone Mountain area. She worked as a United States Postal Worker for over 34 years, retiring as a civil servant. She loved her entire family completely, and was known for her bright and friendly positive personality. Her other notable passions were a love of Star Wars, good books, cats, and the Atlanta Falcons football team. Her hobbies included writing children's stories and crocheting. She will be remembered especially for her generous and kind Christian nature.
She leaves behind her two beloved sons; Jimmy and Jason Adams. Four older siblings; Susan Brown, Billy 'Bo' Brodnax III, June Brown, and Jeff Brodnax, Sr. Nine nieces and nephews; Donny Brown, Jr, Debbie Dupree, Billy Brodnax IV, Tabitha Brodnax, Russel Brown, Jr, Adam Brown, Raquel Lanier, Jeffrey Brodnax, Jr, Alison Banegas. Her mother-in-love Betty Adams and sisters-in-law Gail Adams, and Susan Byers. Niece Liz Byers. Father of her children, Jim Adams, Sr. Her very special grandson, Caleb Brodnax. Several dear great nieces and nephews, cousins, friends, and her two fur-babies; 'The Doctor' and 'Clara'. She was preceded in death by her parents; Lillie Belle, and Billy Brodnax, Jr.
Upon her and her family's request, she will be given a natural burial. The graveside funeral will take place
at noon on October 31st, 2018 at Honey Creek Woodlands Cemetery in Conyers, Georgia. There will be a reception afterwards not far from the burial grounds at the cemetery office with food for family, friends and other loved ones that wish to attend. Please arrive at least 30 minutes early, and feel free to dress casually, as the burial site is located in the pine forest. For those with walking or standing difficulties, chairs and golf cart shuttling will be provided.
