Maryann Pezone: Covington, GA – Mrs. Maryann Pezone, 96, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday, September 22, 2019. Born on July 21, 1923 in Patterson, NJ, Maryann was the daughter of Michael and Carmella Cutillo. She was the oldest of 6 children. Upon graduating high school, she attended Trap Hagan School of design in New York City. With a great talent for design and creativity in the fashion sector, Maryann worked in the garment district in Manhattan where she utilized her talents during the war period of the mid 1940’s. Post WWII, she married Peter Pezone, a war veteran, and moved back to New Jersey where they lived in a community with other post war families and had their first daughter, Cecelia in 1946 and their second daughter, Toni in 1957. In 1959, Maryann went on to become a seamstress making wedding gowns, prom dresses and other women’s clothing. She later moved to Atlanta, GA to be closer to family where she became a member of HOSTE, a Catholic retreat community, where she was respected and honored by its members. Maryann was preceded in death by her 2 brother and 3 sisters and her husband, Peter. She was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Covington, GA. She is survived by her daughter Cecelia and husband Joseph, her daughter Toni and husband Kevin, her granddaughter Victoria and husband Ziad, grandson Peter and wife Gabriela, granddaughter Jessica and husband Michael, and by her 7 great grandchildren, Anthony, Sofia, Finnian, Tillson, Emilia, Roque, and Montserrat.
