Noel Douglas Bussell Jr., age 78, passed away on October 17, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. Born on May 23, 1947 in Chidester, AK, he was the beloved son of the late Dorothy Vernell Bussell and Noel Douglas Bussell Sr. of Luling LA.

Doug, as he was known to some or Noel to others, retired from successful careers at Praxair and Georgia Tech. In retirement, he embraced a slower pace of life in Social Circle, Georgia. He became best known for “Pops Peanuts” and for his warm, generous presence in the community. He filled his days with the things he loved most: sharing and making laughs with friends, spending time with family, and enjoying the simple pleasures of life.

Doug is survived by his sister, Savanthia Gros, (husband -AJ); his children, Jessica Guy, Josh Jackson (wife - Christine), Michael Dean, and Marcus Dean; and his cherished granddaughters, Simone Jackson, Chloe Guy, and Caroline Guy.

He will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his sense of humor, and the kindness he extended to everyone he met. His family and friends will carry his spirit forward with love and gratitude.

A private memorial will be held at a later date to celebrate his life.
