Patricia Modrak Obituary

Patricia Estey Modrak, age 90, of Conyers, Georgia, passed away on March 31, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
Patricia lived a life defined by kindness, compassion, and generosity. She had a heart that instinctively reached out to others, always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. For 67 years, she was devoted to her loving husband, and together they built a life filled with loyalty, laughter, and unwavering partnership. As a mother, she was nurturing, steady, and endlessly supportive.
Born in upstate New York, she attended the Rochester Institute of Technology. After being diagnosed with polio, her doctor advised her to take up a sport. The only female sport available at the time was fencing so she joined the team. She and her teammates went on to win two NCAA team championships in 1954 – 55 and were later named to the RIT Hall of Fame. Patricia graduated from RIT with a degree in graphic design and was a highly skilled commercial artist for many years.
After getting married, Patricia became a very good golfer and played in many tournaments with her husband, even winning a mixed couples tournament. She also composed many booklets full of witticisms for her fellow golfing friends.
A woman of remarkable talent and energy, she carried a feisty spirit and a wonderful sense of humor that made her unforgettable to everyone who knew her. Creativity flowed through every part of her life. She was an accomplished artist and a master craftswoman who could transform the ordinary into the extraordinary. Patricia adored butterflies, and she shared that love generously—often gifting butterfly jewelry to friends, family, and even strangers who crossed her path.
She enjoyed traveling, exploring new places, and finding inspiration in the world around her. Her creativity, warmth, and joyful spirit left a lasting imprint on all who knew her.
Patricia is survived by her devoted husband, her beloved children, her cherished grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members, along with a host of dear friends who will forever hold her memory close. Her legacy of love, creativity, and kindness will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those she touched.
In lieu of flowers, her family requests that donations be made to your favorite charity as she was an avid supporter of several charities.
