Richard L. "Rickie" Walker
Rickie was born 7/30/49 in Louisville, KY. He passed through heaven's gate of 5/3/20 after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
He married Midge Clark and they had two children, Justin and Jaime. He worked in the heavy gear business, partnered in a motorcycle shop as well as various other jobs. After his divorce he took up life at Jackson Lake.
In 2002 he met Joan Van Dyke while she was working for an airline in Atlanta. They married two years later. Rickie loved adventure and people often joked that he married Joan for her travel, and the two traveled nearly everywhere. He loved music and discovered a way to cruise with his favorite bands. For five years they sailed the Sandy Beaches Cruise until his health no longer allowed it.
Most of all Rickie loved his family and friends deeply. Conversations always ended in "I Love You".
Rickie is survived by his wife Joan Walker, son Justin Walker, daughter Jaime Lynn (Chris), grandchildren Dylan Altman, Kaitlin Lynn, Madison Walker and Jackson Walker. He also leaves behind a brother Charles Sonny Walker (Candy), ex-wife Midge Walker and numerous, numerous friends, too many to mention. He was preceded in death by a sister Judy Brooks.
We ask all his dear friends to find and listen to the song by the late Kenny Rogers and Dolly Pardon titled You Can't Make Old Friends.
Celebrations of his life will take place at later dates both in Georgia and Oregon. In lieu of flowers, please give to your favorite cancer charity to knock out this horrible disease.
Rest in Peace Sweet Sweet
