Russell Ray Megrue

Mr. Russell (Jack) Ray Megrue age 89 of Columbus, Georgia passed away on May 9, 2019. He was born on July 14, 1929 in Scotia, Nebraska to Floyd and Clarice Megrue. While living in Nebraska, Russell became an exceptional dancer and an avid baseball player. He joined the Coast Guard and served his country honorably. After his time in the Coast Guard, Russell earned his law degree from The University of Denver. Upon the completion of his law degree, Russell spent his career with The Federal Bureau of Investigations. He met and married the love of his life, Eleanor and together they raised three children. Russell was very involved in church and was an active member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Columbus, Georgia. He is predeceased by his parents; Floyd and Clarice Megrue and his loving wife Eleanor. Russell leaves behind to cherish his memory, his beloved children; Jeff (Debbie) Megrue, Steve (Sandy) Megrue and Lynda Megrue. His loving grandchildren; Matthew, Joseph, Jonathan, Hayden and Madison. His precious great grandchildren; Carter and Tristin, as well as a host of other loving family and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial donations be made to The Alzheimer's Association in memory of Russell Ray Megrue.
