On May 4, 2020 the universe gained a special soul - Scott Russell Te Ronde, age 50.
He was born on January 14, 1970, in Logansport, IN to Paul Jay Te Ronde and Cheryl Lynn Te Ronde (Nee) Sommerfeld. He came into the world wide eyed, alert and looking around as though he was already thinking and analyzing his surroundings. His parents moved to Atlanta, GA when Scott was only five. In childhood, he loved to play baseball and football, rode bikes and loved being outdoors with his friends. During his high school years, he was popular, loved music and further developed his artistic talents - drawing and playing guitar. Throughout his life, his true essence permeated all and whom he encountered.
After graduating from Stone Mountain High School in 1988, he enlisted in the Navy and proudly served our country during the Persian Gulf War and received an Honorable Discharge in 1993. From December 1998 to August 2002, he served in the North Carolina Army National Guard. In 2001, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Anthropology from Western Carolina University. In later years he took graduate level courses in human movement and Kinesiology and further received an American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), certification. As he moved into the work force, his BOMI continuing education provided the tools and skills he needed to succeed in the property and facility management services sector.
As a student of life, his many interests led to multi avocations that sustained him over the years. He had many dreams and a bucket list a mile long. He was attempting to fulfill all. Included were time spent at and in the ocean, the outdoors, fitness endeavors, mixed martial arts and last but certainly not least, his precious fur babies - Aerial and Disco - two Border Collies.
Scott is survived by his mother Sherry (Charles) Hawkins, his father Paul (Deborah) Te Ronde; his grandmother Marjorie Sommerfeld; step grandmother Catherine Clark; his sister; Jennie (Corey) Wiggins and nephew Parrish; his step sister; Dawne Barrett and family and step brother; Patrick Nicholson and family. He also leaves behind dearly loved uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.
A private cremation was conducted on May 7, 2020. A memorial and burial will take place this coming fall at The Honey Creek Woodlands at the Monastery of The Holy Spirit, in Conyers, GA., with the date to be determined.
