• Yvonne Patricia Nicholson was a beautiful soul that captivated many.

• Born Yvonne Patricia Major on January 24, 1942 in Georgetown, Guyana to the late Sarifan and Morty Major. She was the eldest of five siblings.

• In her youth, she attended Morovian Public school in Georgetown, Guyana. Ambitiously, Yvonne ventured off to the United States in December 1968, where she began her schooling in Boston, Massachusetts to study accounting. Upon completing her education, Yvonne moved to Lagos, Nigeria where she lived for 10 years. As the woman she was, Yvonne quickly acclimated to the culture and in return left an impact on everyone.

• After establishing her career, she returned to the United States reuniting with her family.

• Deeply grounded and led by faith, Yvonne attended Presentation Catholic Church in Brooklyn, New York. Yvonne was a woman of virtue, and met a man of valour, Gladstone (Roy), who became the love of her life.

• Seeking a better life for her family, Yvonne and Gladstone relocated to Orlando, Florida where they lived for 7 years. Yvonne’s drive to further her education led her to nursing school.

• In 1996, Yvonne's willingness for change led her and her family to Atlanta, Georgia. Her love for people allowed her to pursue a career at Northside Hospital, where she worked as a nurse and later retired as a nursing secretary.

• As the Matriarch, Yvonne was the pillar of her family. She was the epitome of a strong woman putting family first and showing love to all her children, grand and great grandchildren. Yvonne loved to dance, cook, give advice, advocate for others and was a support system for all. Yvonne was unforgettable, her beauty, captivating! No other woman could walk into a room and call as much attention as she did, she exuded elegance!

• Yvonne sought the world. Her love for travel was limitless which led her to places such as: Paris, Italy, Amsterdam, Germany, London, and the Caribbeans (to name a few). Being true shepherd's of God, Yvonne and Gladstone became active in their community at St. Pius X Catholic Church.

• Yvonne was called home to be with the Lord on September 14, 2024. She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Gladstone (Roy).
• Children: Debbie, Bryan, Karen, Lawrence, Onyeka (Paul), Arinze (Chuck) and Ngozi (Jenny).
• Step children: Kalonji, Konata and Karana.
• Mother-in-law of: Alick, Tamango, Clydene and Tasha.
• Siblings: Alvin, Lynette, Lorraine (Bobby), Dennis, Ronald and Joan.
• Sister-in-law of: Janet, Winston, Albert, Tessa, Sue and Jose.
• 21 Grandchildren; 15 Great Grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
