Robert V. McKinnon (Bob), owner of Eddies Trick Shop and Center Stage II Dancewear, died peacefully on July 13th, 2016 at Atria Park of Tucker Senior Living Home at the age of 87, after a brief illness with a heart infection and very short time under hospice care.

Robert was born in Brooklyn, N.Y.. on October 11, 1928. He proudly served in the Armed Forces during the Korean War. Robert met Mary Mehler in 1945 and they were blessed with 65 1/2 years of a loving marriage. In 1969, Robert and Mary relocated their family of 7 children to Stone Mountain, Georgia. Robert was an active member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church serving as the lector and Parish School of Religion teacher for close to 40 years.

Robert's love of magic persuaded him to buy Eddie's Trick and Novelty Shop, a Marietta retail store, in 1978. Robert proceeded to open other locations, franchise stores, and a wholesale division that serves the entire country. In 1991, he purchased Center Stage II Dancewear, which operates 2 stores in the Atlanta area. Robert became a professional magician, performing for all ages, in addition to teaching magic lessons. As of mid-May 2016, he and his wife were still going into work for a few hours each day, where he loved to show and sell magic. He was still entertaining nurses, staff and friends with magic tricks while he was in the hospital and rehab facility for the past 7 weeks.

Bob's love of magic, his passion for business and his positive outlook on life were most admirable and contagious to all of us who knew and loved him. His faith in God was evident in everything he did or said. Someone so special can never be forgotten!

He is survived by his adoring wife, Mary, 6 children and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, as well as others who lovingly think of him as Grandpa.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Tuesday, July 19 at 11:00 a.m.. at Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Stone Mountain, Georgia. It will be followed by a luncheon and visitation in the church hall. After the luncheon, family and guests will proceed to The Honey Creek Woodlands Cemetery, located at 2625 Hwy. 212 SW., Conyers, Georgia 30094. The cemetery is located across the street from The Monastery of The Holy Spirit. Please gather at the cemetery office and we will proceed to the grave site together. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to St. Vincent de Paul Society.

The McKinnon Family appreciates all of your prayers during this difficult time.
